The act of sewing carries a violence in its physicality, piercing a soft surface with a metal needle. This process mirrors the formation of our identity, stitched together from experiences and interactions. We build our shields and stories, deeply embedded under our skin. What is visible on the outside is our armor, often embellished but not always reflective of who we truly are. Under My Skin explores the physicality of this process, where the skin, as the body's outer layer, connects us to the external world, bearing the traces and traumas of both inner and outer experiences. It also forms the foundation for how we exist and interact.
